A summer at the Museum: Games, reading & relaxing in the Museum garden
Books are available for loan in the garden, relating to nature, literature, history, philosophy, botany and the arts. Sun loungers and beanbags are at your disposal. Come and relax alone, with family or with friends every afternoon, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Free loan. Books and games to be collected from the Museum reception.

In April 1756, Jean-Jacques Rousseau fled Paris, “a city of noise, smoke and mud”, and settled in Montmorency, at a place called “Hermitage”. In December 1757, the Citizen of Geneva moved to Petit Mont-Louis, currently the Jean-Jacques Rousseau Museum.
He composed his major works there: Julie or the New Heloise, The Letter to d’Alembert on the Shows, The Social Contract, Emile or On Education.
Emile’s conviction caused the philosopher to flee on June 9, 1762.
The Museum consists of the little Mont-Louis, the philosopher’s house, the garden including the green room and the “Dungeon”.
An extension of the house carried out in the 19th century allows temporary exhibitions and cultural events to be organized. SNCF Enghien-les-Bains / Bus 13 Rey de Foresta stop or bus 15M Hôtel de ville stop
