AAfter the good weather, storms? After a week marked by the return of the sun and the first tropical nights in France, the sky will darken to make way for thunderclaps. Twenty-five departments were placed on orange storm alert on Friday, June 28, by Météo-France for Saturday, June 29. These are the Grand Est and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regions, as well as the departments of Cher, Landes, Gironde, Charente, Charente-Maritime, Vienne and Deux-Sèvres.
And on Saturday, early in the morning, five departments joined the list. Météo-France has indeed extended its alert to Cantal, Aveyron, Lot, Tarn, Cher and Allier. This rainy and stormy deterioration is explained by the arrival of a “cold drop” from Spain. “Intense rain, large hail and strong gusts of wind to be feared,” warns Météo-France.
