2XKO receives its first open alpha, with a small problem

Riot Games has chosen the path of slow but sure growth. Developing methodically and carefully, they have tackled each game genre to ensure success in each niche. Almost always successful, this strategy has allowed them not only to survive but also to grow unstoppably over the years. It seems that their next play is already well in sight.

The next genre Riot will be tackling is fighting games. Their new game, 2XKO, previously known as Project L, is a 2 vs. team fighting game. 2 with characters from the Runeterra universethe world of League of Legends.

The good news is that if you can’t wait to play this game, you won’t have to wait much longer. 2XKO will be playable for the first time publicly during a playtest starting August 8. This playtest will be available to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation and PC usersand you can already register. However, it is limited to certain territories: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Brazil, Japan and Mexico. If you do not reside in one of these territories, you will unfortunately not be able to participate in this public alpha.

Riot has confirmed that streaming will not only be allowed, but encouraged. This will allow people outside of these seven territories to enjoy the game in this way. However, Riot insists this is an alpha. 2XKO is far from a complete game. Many aspects are still under development, and imperfections are to be expected. This alpha is a proof of concept, not the final product.

Finally, the best news is that while not everyone will be able to play this alpha, a release date is finally in sight. Riot has confirmed that 2XKO will be released in 2025. Although no specific time frame has been given, and without specification on the type of launch (open, closed beta, or full launch), one thing is certain: the game is approaching its final stages of development. This means that we should receive a lot of information about 2XKO in the coming months.

Project L is a free-to-play action game from Riot Games
