Organized by the Lauriers d’Aicard association, the Confluences festival presents its fourth edition on Saturday and Sunday in the gardens and historic rooms of the Jean-Aicard museum in La Garde, to celebrate the living arts without embellishment and in an exceptional setting. . “ The organizing association wishes to promote theater and the performing arts. We popularize and make theatrical art accessible to all, in order to introduce it to people who do not know it or who cannot go see a play, for example. », explains Nicolas Vantalon, director of the festival. The opportunity to discover a variety of contemporary and classic works performed by Conservatory students, companies but also local or national troupes and amateur or professional actors.

Rémi De Vos, guest of honor of the festival

As every year, a playwright is present and attends all the plays and performances throughout the festival. The associated author for this fourth edition is Rémi De Vos and all the proposals will be made around his bibliography, his universe. We will discover its pieces, their genesis or even some manufacturing secrets. The idea is really to discover each other among human beings, because that’s also the festival, human encounters ” he continues. ” He explores in particular the themes of the couple or the world of work and creates around that. »

The public will be able to enjoy no fewer than ten performances, all outdoors and free of charge. Attentionwould like to warn the director, Just because it’s free doesn’t mean it’s poor quality. Quite the opposite. »

In addition to the theatrical performances that are renewed every hour, there are also writing, poetry and open-air theatre workshops to celebrate the arts. The advantage of this event is that it is open air and therefore, if something does not please us or bothers us, we have the possibility to move away, go and see elsewhere and come back a little later. Which is not the case in a classic theater. “, adds Nicolas Vantalon.

A place for exchange and sharing

But Confluences is also a place of exchange, of common celebration. It is a place of art, of living arts, together. At the end of each piece, we will be able to discuss it and this is also why we chose this name “, the director specifies.

To top it all off, you will have the opportunity to discover an exhibition of plastic arts proposed by young artists. Each evening will be closed by a concert, including the one on Sunday which will end this summer edition.
