The Girondins passed this Thursday morning in front of the DNCG (National Directorate of Management Control). Like every year since the takeover of the club by Gérard Lopez in 2021, the club is trembling before passing this examination of its financial situation. The former owner of LOSC made risky bets last summer, investing massively during the transfer window in the hope of moving up to Ligue 1. In reality, the payroll of the workforce has never been adapted to a team playing in the 2nd division.
The Girondins requested a postponement of their hearing originally scheduled for June 19. According to sources, he would be missing between 30 and 43 million euros to be able to start the next season in Ligue 2. He is therefore today exposed to the same sanction as 2022: demotion to the National.
