The Victoriaville Dragon Boat Club stood out with a noteworthy performance from its teams during its participation in the 16th Shawinigan Dragon Boat Festival.

For the first time since the resumption of activities following the pandemic, the club qualified in the prestigious A category, both at the women’s (Falk’Or) and mixed (Kaltaram) levels. Vicky Desfossés, coach of these two teams and manager of the Victoriaville club, is delighted with this accomplishment.

“We are very happy with the results and we would like to thank the many businesses in the region that support us each year. We invite the people of Victoriaville and its region to come and try this wonderful sport that is accessible to all,” she said.

The club also collected first (Paddle-Queens) and third (Les Lotus) places in the F final, a second position in the G final (Girly Boat), a fourth place in the C final (Drakos) and a fourth position in the D final (Fireballs).

Dragon boating is a water sport involving 20 rowers. The goal is to socialize, enjoy nature and train. The activity is accessible to all. Qualified coaches will be on site to guide you and ensure safe practice.
