THE PROGRAM

A traditional inauguration

Like every year, the launch of the Dragon Festival begins with the waiters’ race starting from Place Cassin. This symbolic race is intended to promote the waitresses and waiters who liven up the historic center.
This race is followed by the inauguration of the Dragon Circuit. Then, a musical meal with the Justyne Band will be offered on the Market Square.
On the menu: spit-roasted pork.

The know-how of the Arts district

The Arts district, including the streets of Trans, des Marchands and the Place aux Herbes, invites you to discover the know-how of its artisans through a craft market with numerous workshops for young and old: – embroidery; – macramé; – scents; – medieval creations; – binding; – temporary tattoos; – painting on plaster; – dream catchers; – hook ; – coloring and origami; – portraits; – clay.
The Caboch’Art space will inaugurate the Circuit des dragons, a course of dragons made by the Dracénois.
The collective is offering an exhibition entitled “Blanc”.
The Arts District will also offer a square ball challenge and an exhibition of a giant chess set on the theme of Draguignan.

A rich local heritage

On the occasion of the Dragon Festival, the city’s cultural sites open their doors:
– Executioner’s house;
– Clock Tower, also illuminated from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.;
– Chapelle de l’Observance, with the Draguignan Liberé exhibition, around the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Provence, and pottery workshops;
– Museum of Fine Arts, with stone sculpture workshops;
– Museum of popular arts and traditions, with the exhibition Les jeux en fête, around sporting practice;
– Hell.

This celebration of the historic center is ideal for guided walks, inviting you to rediscover the local heritage:
– the dragon’s ride, with the Dragonium, the Castrum d’Arcus company, the dances of Arcus, the bravadeurs of the Argens valley and the musical ensemble Le Corridor;
– the commemorative and historical walk of the 80th anniversary of the landing of Provence. Activities for everyone In addition to cultural and craft activities, the Dragon Festival offers activities for everyone.
