Criminal identification experts took numerous samples from the burglarized house.
The affair began at around 10:50 a.m. in Montrem (Dordogne). Martine was in her house (which opened onto a small street) when she was surprised: “My wife heard footsteps on the stairs,” recounts Bernard, his wife being too shocked to speak. “She grabbed a broom, went up the steps and found herself face to face with four men. Two then went out through the window, the others through the front door.”

The woman from Montrémois alerted her two sons, including Théo, who testified: “We each jumped into a car. I went up the street for about a hundred meters and I passed a black C5. I made a few movements with my car. They tried to put pressure on me.” Result: the criminals violently hit the young man’s old Citroën Partner. They were immobilized. “They ran away,” Théo still remembers. “There were four of them. I wasn’t sure it was them, but then, since they had hit me and fled, I knew! They were speaking something like Croatian.”

During this time, the mother had the reflex to call the police. They deployed in large numbers: local units were immediately mobilized. It is not literally a Épervier plan but a “research system”. According to our information confirmed by the prosecution, two men were arrested by the gendarmerie surveillance and intervention squad (Psig). The investigation continues “actively”. A helicopter was called to catch the two other escapees. At the time of writing, they had still not been located.
For the moment, the damage from the burglary has not been quantified because criminal identification experts have combed the scene of the crime, preventing any entry.
