This week against state racism and police violence sees a series of demonstrations taking place.

On June 27, 2023, a police officer shot Nahel, a 17-year-old teenager, at point-blank range.

On the occasion of the week against state racism and police violence which began this Monday, June 24, the Lyon Fight Committee is calling to gather this Thursday, June 27 at 6 p.m. on Place Guichard.

“To your tags, banners, stencils, collages, to make state racism, police murders, the death of Nahel and the revolts of the summer of 2023 visible. And all the others that we don’t forget…” thus indicates the collective, calling for “massively invest the walls of our city, throughout the metropolis and in all neighborhoods”All especially on the night of the 26th to the 27th.

After the gathering “in memory of our brothers, sisters, children murdered by the state and its racist police”an evening in honor of Nahel, Idir “and all the others” is organized at the ECG Annex from 7 p.m., a squat located at 27 rue Salomon Reinach in the 7th arrondissement.

During the event there will be a barbecue, screenings, canteen, discussions, and posters and prints will also be on sale at free price: the money raised will be used to help the “prisoners victims of colonial repression” in New Caledonia and to the Idir Espoir et Solidarité association.
