Ukraine recently received authorization from the United States, France and the United Kingdom to launch long-range missile strikes against military installations in Russia.
Effective ATACMS and Storm Shadow strikes have already been carried out, but Ukraine does not have a sufficient missile stockpile for such attacks to become regular. However, allies are working to provide Ukraine with much-needed neutralization equipment.
What we know
Bloomberg sources reported that the British government secretly transferred a new batch of Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine. The source did not specify when exactly and in what quantity the weapons arrived in the country, but this probably happened before permission to strike Russian territory was given.
This is the first decision taken by Keir Starmer's cabinet regarding the supply of these missiles and this transfer confirms that London's position on support for Ukraine has not changed and that the UK continues to provide weapons.
It should be noted that the United Kingdom has never made public the number and nomenclature of weapons transferred to Ukraine and is not changing its strategy.
