Transfer window: FC Metz begins its big clean-up with three departures!

This Tuesday, FC Metz made official the departure of three players: Didier Lamkel Zé, Warren Tchimbembe and Sami Lahssaini.

FC METZ DOES NOT EXERCISE THE PURCHASE OPTION ON DIDIER Lamkel Zé

RDelegated to Ligue 2, FC Metz begins its transfer window with a major downsizing of the squad. Arriving on loan last winter (for the second time in the Metz jersey after 2021-2022), Didier Lamkel Zé will not continue the adventure in Moselle. The purchase option was not exercised by the Metz club, for the one who has never hidden his love for the club but who has not had the expected return.

In 12 appearances, the Cameroonian striker has scored only once, against Lorient (J20, 1-2). Return to Hatayspor, in Turkey for the Bertoua native.

End of the road for WARREN TCHIMBEMBé

A Grenat since the summer of 2020, Warren Tchimbembe sees his contract end. Often placed on the list of undesirables, the midfielder was loaned twice, to Mirandès (2021-2022) then to Guingamp (2022-2023) before playing his last season with the Reserve team. The Congolese international has 26 matches under the Grenat jersey in all competitions. Now free, the 26-year-old player is looking for a new project.

SAMI LAHSSAINI’s contract is coming to an end

Similarly, FC Metz announces the end of a long collaboration with Sami Lahssaini, of almost five years. Arrived in Moselle since 2019, the player trained at RFC Seraing has never found his place in the Grenat squad, and will have paid the price of the association with the satellite club. Loaned to his training club in Belgium for three consecutive years (from 2020 to 2023), the midfielder is coming off a new loan this season to RAAL La Louvière concluded by a promotion to the Belgian second division.

It’s a page that is turning and some issues that have lasted a long time, but finally settled. After these departures, FC Metz should get into action regarding the arrivals, and in particular that of the new coach, Stéphane Le Mignan. The resumption of training is planned for this Friday.
