While trying to escape the police, he lost his life. The driver of the TMAX scooter, involved in a refusal to comply in Hauts-de-Seine, Sunday June 23, 2024, died the next day, Monday 24, at 4:35 p.m., indicates to Paris news the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office. He was 22 years old.

Positive for alcohol and cannabis

According to a source at Paris news, the young man was not wearing a helmet and had not given priority to the police, which led to his pursuit. He then succeeded in losing them according to the police officers’ version, confirmed by the prosecution. “The first elements collected (…) resulting in particular from the urban video surveillancemade it possible to confirm the version of the police concerning the cessation of the pursuit of the TMAX scooter by the police on orders from their superiors before the accident occurred,” continues the prosecution.

According to our source, the man then had hit a metal barrier, before being projected onto the tracks of line J of the Transilien. The prosecution adds: “Arriving on site, the police came to his aid and immediately alerted the firefighters. » Two investigations were then opened against him, one “for refusal to comply” and another “for involuntary injuries by the driver of a vehicle”.

Transported to hospital, the 22-year-old driver finally died the next afternoon. The prosecution concludes: “The results of the blood tests carried out on the scooter driver also proved positive for alcohol and cannabis. »
