“Yellow vests” blocking the A47 in Givors (DR)
As part of improving mobility between Saint-Étienne and Lyon, a first phase of work begins on interchange 13 “La Grand-Croix” from July 2 to August 29, 2024.
From July 2 to August 29, 2024, entry and exit ramps no. 13 “La Grand-Croix” in the Saint-Étienne/Lyon direction will be closed, as part of the first phase of work to improve mobility between the two cities.
Nature of the work
In the Saint-Étienne/Lyon direction, the exit ramp will be widened from the A47 to the junction with the RM106, to change to 2 lanes and a roundabout will be created. The objective of this operation is, as explained in a press release by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, “to improve user safety and streamline traffic on the A47 by making it easier for vehicles to exit and enter the mainland road network”.

Anticipation of travel
Users wishing to take the A47 towards Lyon will have to take the metropolitan road network RM88 towards Lorette (rue Jean Jaurès then Plaine de Grézieux) then the RM65 towards Genilac/Chagnon in order to join the A47 at the next interchange n°12 (Sardon). Users traveling on the A47 towards Lyon and wishing to exit the A47 towards La Grand-Croix will have to exit at the previous interchange no. 16 “La Varizelle” and take the RM88 metropolitan road network.
In the Lyon/Saint-Étienne direction, the work will make it possible to anticipate the creation of new ramps which will be carried out during the next phase which will continue until the 1st quarter of 2025.
