Artus will be the headliner of an ambitious new feature film, adapted from a successful comic strip. The film’s direction has been entrusted to the director of “The Chorus” and “The New War of the Buttons”. Casting is underway.
Artus at the director of The Chorus! RTL revealed yesterday that the successful comedian and humorist will play the lead role in Christophe Barratier’s new feature film.
After having directed La Nouvelle Guerre des Boutons, Faubourg 36 and Le Temps des secrets, Christophe Barratier will direct an adaptation of the successful comic strip Les Enfants de la résistance, written by Benoît Ers and Vincent Dugomier. The film will adapt two of the albums, and other adaptations could follow in the event of success.
The film will tell “Resistance at child’s height“. “It tells the story of the adventures of three children, two boys and a little girl, during the first months of the Occupation, in a small village located next to the demarcation line.summarizes Christophe Barratier on RTL. Because of an injustice they witness, these three children, as a game, will start with little stupidities like making slightly insulting graffiti on German propaganda posters, but little by little they will get into this game. , and enter into a first act, which are in fact first acts of resistance. (…) They call their network the lynx. (…) They will enter into an increasingly dangerous game.”
Casting underway to find children for the film
A casting is underway to find the children who will play the main and secondary roles. The production is looking for several profiles to embody the main roles: four boys between 12 and 14 years old, a young blonde girl aged 12-13 and a boy aged 16-17.We will consider all applications, even beginners.“, assures casting director Sylvie Brocheré in a press release.”At the same time, we will be looking for male and female extras between 7 and 18 years old.“, noted France Bleu on its website.
Apart from the children, RTL reveals that one of the parents, who has the main role, will be played by Artus. “I admit I’m quite glad I offered him the role before his film came out.“, indicates Christophe Barratier to RTL. Filming is planned for this fall.
