Mâcon offers a new work-study program for Application Designer and Developer, in partnership with GRETA 71, to meet the growing needs of the digital sector.

A new work-study training opportunity enriches the higher education offerings in Mâcon. This is the one-year “Application Designer Developer” program, launched by the Mâconnais Beaujolais agglomeration (MBA) in partnership with GRETA 71.

A need for higher education training in the digital field had been identified, in particular to offer continued studies to students from the BTS SIO and BTS CIEL of Lycée Lamartine, but also to self-taught people with solid prerequisites in the field of digital technology. computing, explains Florence Bâtard, MBA vice-president in charge of higher education and relations with universities Thus, during its meeting of April 4, 2024, the MBA Community Council decided to accompany and support GRETA in the implementation of this training, by providing an office and a classroom at the Cité de l’Entreprise with an area of ​​60 m² for a lower rent”.

A recruitment day was organized with local companies specializing in digital technology, such as Wooskill, Matawan Mobility, AUM Biosync as well as the Inobyz business incubator, to meet students interested in following this new training.

Admission requirements

To join the “Application Designer Developer” training, you must hold a diploma or title corresponding to a BAC +2. To obtain admission to this training, candidates will have to pass programming language skills tests and will have an interview around their motivations and their professional project. A good command of the web environment and mobile media, as well as practice of English, both written and spoken, are expected.

The training will take place at the Cité de l’entreprise from September 2, 2024 until August 31, 2025 (1,407 hours) and will offer 8 to 12 places. It will be done alternately: two weeks in the training center, then two weeks in the company. At the end of the training, the students will be evaluated on the basis of a professional situation, then during a final interview with the jury. They will obtain the “Application Developer Designer” diploma at BAC +3 level. Further study is also possible, in particular towards a Professional Master (BAC +5) in cybersecurity.

A versatile job

The application developer designer designs and develops secure applications, such as enterprise software, mobile and tablet applications or websites. The jobs that can be practiced after training in this field are: application architect, Android designer, IT design engineer, IT expert, IT project manager, IT consultant.

This training completes the higher education offer proposed by the MBA agglomeration in Mâcon in partnership with the universities of Burgundy, Lyon II Lumière and Lyon III Jean Moulin. More than 1600 students pursue higher education in Mâcon.
