The National Rally confirms its breakthrough in Gironde, in the first round of the legislative elections. It already counts an elected deputy, re-elected even this Sundaysince it is about of Edwige Diaz, in Blayais, the 11th constituency. She gathered 53.3% of the votes. The National Rally also comes out on top in the Medoc, where his 2nd outgoing deputy, Grégoire de Fournas, was. First too on the Arcachon Basin (8th district), South Gironde (9th constituency), the Libournais (10th constituency), and Entre-deux-Mers (12th constituency).

The New Popular Front in the lead in the number of votes

The National Rally is therefore in the lead in six constituencies, at the end of this first round. However, on the scale of the Gironde department, it is indeed the New Popular Front wins most votes, with a very short head. He is ahead of the RN by 66 votes according to our count and se placed first in five constituencies**: the 2nd, Bordeaux center, the 3rd, Bordeaux south, the 4th, on the Right Bank, the 6th, Mérignac and Saint-Médard-en-Jallesthe 7th, in Pessac, Gradignan, Cestas and Canéjan.

A slap in the face for the Macronist camp

The Macronist camp presented seven outgoing deputies. Only one came first in his constituency. Thomas Cazenave in Bordeaux North, Bruges and Le Bouscat (1st constituency). Another one has already been defeated: Pascal Lavergne, in the 12th constituency, that of Entre-deux-mers. He came third behind the National Rally and the New Popular Front and withdrew.

Nine potential triangulars

In the second round, Gironde voters will potentially have the choice between three ballots, a famous triangular one, in nine constituencies. There were none in 2022. In fact, we should probably see four three-way races this Sunday, after the game of withdrawals of Macronist or left-wing candidates who came third, to beat the National Rally. This could be in the 1st (Bordeaux North), 3rd (Bordeaux South), 6th (Mérignac and Saint-Médard-en-Jalles) and 7th constituencies (Pessac, Gradignan, Cestas and Canéjan).
