The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be without quarterback Trevor Harris for a minimum of six games.

This was stated by head coach Corey Mace on Sunday, specifying that the 38-year-old veteran suffered from a moderate ligament sprain in his left knee.

The former Montreal Alouettes pivot was injured in the final moments of the first half of his team’s 36-20 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday.

Harris saw his 2023 season end after just five games last year due to a right knee injury. It was his first campaign with the Roughriders, he having decided to join the Saskatchewan team after having worn the colors of the “Als” for almost two seasons.

Shea Patterson should take his place behind center while awaiting his return to the game.

Before his injury, Harris had completed 70 of 97 passes for 872 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had three interceptions.

The Roughriders are still undefeated in three outings so far in 2024 and are sitting in first place in the Canadian League West standings. They will look to continue their winning streak without Harris on Thursday night when the Toronto Argonauts visit Mosaic Stadium.
