The Friday July 5 2024 will mark the passage of the Olympic flame to Le Havre (Seine-Maritime which will be a stopover town generating its share of celebrations but also travel difficulties for the people of Le Havre.

The city has already taken measures to control access to the celebration site. Vehicle traffic will thus be neutralized between noon and 8 p.m. in the city center. Obviously, all crossings will remain possible on foot.

Parking

For access to parking, restrictions will be put in place on the route and in certain nearby car parks from Sunday June 30.

These parking restrictions will come into effect little by little from June 30:

  • Since the Sunday June 30, at 9 p.m. for the first section, including theavenue Foch, the town hall square (the car park remains accessible) and the Strasbourg Boulevard.
  • The second section, from Monday July 1 at 9 p.m.concerns part of the boulevard Albert 1erthe street Frédéric-Bellangerand the boulevard Clémenceau.
  • The third section Tuesday July 2, at 9 p.m.including beach car parks, the parking lot of the Le Havre Nautical Cluband the parking Jacques-Chirac.
  • The fourth section, prohibited from Wednesday July 3 at 9 p.m.integrates the street Louis Brindeauthe rue Benjamin-Normand (around MuMa) and the boulevard François 1er.
  • Finally, the fifth section is prohibited from Thursday, July 4, at 9 p.m.. It’s about Quai Southampton, from Quai Notre-Dame (along the Roy basin) and the street of Paris.

A park and ride facility will be set up at Océane Stadiumat the entrance to the city, and shuttles free will be organized every 15 minutes, from noon to 9 p.m., in both ways. They will lead to the Brittany Ferries car park (opposite the Magic Mirror).

Pay attention to the accessibility times for the Les Halles car parklocated on the course: it will be possible to leave until 4 p.m. but entry is prohibited between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m.. The Town Hall car park is not impacted, it will remain accessible normally.

For those who have a “resident” subscription in the festivities area, these subscriptions will be exceptionally valid in all green zones of the city. For the others, parking remains charged That day.

Circulation

On the day the flame passes, the traffic will be prohibited on the route and throughout downtown from noon. A tolerance is however granted to vehicles wishing to leave the area, until 4 p.m. (by shear points). The reopening of traffic by section is planned no later than Friday July 5 at 8 p.m.except Southampton quay.

Public transport

A strike notice was filed by the CGT as of July 5. But what remains planned to date: the tram terminus will be located at Gare station from 11:30 a.m.. The resumption of traffic to Plage station is planned from 6:30 p.m.. Bicycles and scooters will be able to circulate freely on the course (hand-held). Some bus lines will be modified, in particular lines C2, C6, C7 and C8, will see their terminus change. A detour will be put in place on lines C1, C3, C4 and C5.

Lime Scooters

From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday July 5, electric scooters are prohibited in entertainment areas, the electric assistance will be deactivated. They must be held by hand to cross the track. From 9 a.m. on July 5, the scooter spaces on and near the route will be closed. Recirculation will take place depending on the progression of the flame.
