“After eight months of preparation, we can’t wait to welcome visitors”projects Olivier Sévère, organizer of the third edition of the Lorient Océans maritime festival.

The festivities village will open its doors on Thursday June 27, 2024, at the fishing port of Lorient (Morbihan), along the Quatre-Pas quay.

Dozens of activities are planned until Sunday evening. “Music, visits and rides on historic boats, culinary workshops with seafood. There should be something for everyone, including beyond the harbor: some embarkations leave from Gâvres and Port-Louis. »

Parade of old rigs on Sunday

The essential? “The great maritime parade in the harbor of Lorient, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. This will be an opportunity to see heritage boats, such as The King’s Starreplica of a privateer frigate from 1745, or the Santa Maria Manuela, a Portuguese schooner. »

Access to the village is free. There are no gates or entry tickets to count the public. “Especially since visitors mix with users of fishing ports and offshore racing, and this is one of the riches of the festival”rejoices Olivier Sévère.

In 2023, the festival welcomed between “15,000 to 25,000 visitorsestimates the organizer. Our goal is not to break a visit record but to satisfy our audience and make them want to come back. »

Practical information: free access. Several entrances from the fishing port to the offshore racing port. Program and plan on the internet: https://lorientoceans.fr/
