Organized by Terre de vins, the Tour des Cartes trophy this year rewarded the Arche des Vins in Beaune in the wine bar category. A great success for this wine bar/wine shop opened only two years ago by two childhood friends!
They dreamed of it, they did it. The adventure of Félix Arnulf and Romain Paxion began two years ago. And today, they receive the award for the most beautiful wine list in France! Félix and Romain are opening the Arche des Vins in June 2022, in the heart of downtown Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wines.It hit us like that during Covid. We fell in love with this building where the Arche des Vins is located today. There was nothing before, which allowed us to create a business exactly as we wanted it, with a Burgundian approach because it is our country, but at the same time, an open-mindedness towards other regions and wines of the world“, says Romain Paxion.
And how can you not fall under the spell of this place. A place to live, a meeting place, which has undoubtedly become the new essential address in the region. In just a few months, this wine bar/wine merchant located in Beaune already offered more than 1,500 references! The map is a real tour of the region but not only that. References from other French wine regions but also from around the world are present to take you on an exceptional oenological journey.
“We want to create a wine bible. This is what best characterizes our cellar book. We taste, if we like it, we take“, explains Félix Arnulf. The two childhood friends surrounded themselves with a great team to run the Arche des Vins: Eliott and Faustin, sommeliers, helped them create a menu that today brings together nearly 3,000 references! It is therefore quite natural that the prize for the most beautiful wine list in France was awarded to l’Arche des Vins this year.
L’Arche des Vins wins the grand prize!
For its eighth edition, the Tour des Cartes 2024 trophy (organized by Terre de Vins) therefore rewarded L’Arche des Vins in the wine bar category! For the two friends at the head of this place of life, it is a source of great pride. Especially since this price comes just two years after the opening of their address. “We have a lot of winegrower friends, so we work with local estates. We try to have a very broad menu, with competitive prices. We want there to be an offer for everyone“, reacts Félix. And adds: “We focus on the grape varieties we know the most: pinot noir and chardonnay. These are our two reference grape varieties.”
In fact, the menu of their cellar is 60% composed of wines from Burgundy, their region of heart. But it also highlights a selection of other flavors, arriving straight from abroad such as Italy, Spain, California or even New Zealand and South Africa.
With this great award, L’Arche des Vins once again establishes its excellence in the field and we can only recommend that you take a trip there if you are in Beaune. The team will be happy to welcome you! And you will have understood, with the approximately 2800 references offered at the Arche des Vins, you will inevitably find what you are looking for!
