The Air Force of Ghana took the relieving of the Navy for a period of three months in order to provide continuous vigilance and security to the presidency from the country, le Jubilee Housein Accra.

It was on the occasion of the 40th parade of relieving of the guard which took place on Monday June 24, 2024 at the presidency in Accra. The ceremony took place in the presence of the President Nana Akufo-Addoseveral officials and students from certain schools in the country.

According to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), the intuitive aims to ensure the availability and proper functioning of all equipment at Jubilee House. The Guard is responsible for protecting the President. It will carry out internal patrols and ensure the security of the presidency and general area for the next three months.

The event was marked by a parade of 20 old and new guards from the Air Force, Navy, with an escort contingent, a drum corps and national and regimental colors under the command of a captain or his equivalent.

The relieving of the presidential guard was established in May 2013 but is inspired by a colonial practice. Formerly purely military, the relieving of the guard has evolved and is open, in addition to officials, to students in order to encourage them to have ambition, to acquire knowledge in life and all while applying themselves diligently to their studies.
