For 10 days, multicolored garlands have announced the traditional patronal festivals of Saint-Pierre-d’Irube. The opening of the event will be proclaimed this Friday, June 28, at 7 p.m., from the balcony of the town hall. It will be followed by Tapas gaua, this convivial moment eagerly awaited by the population. In a dancing atmosphere, with mutxiko as well as the banda des Joyeux and Tendido 6, it will be good to eat around the succulent preparations made by the members of the associations.

The big top will then be hosted, from 10 p.m., by Trikidanz then by Bulego before a very singing conclusion thanks to the phenomenon Andoni Oilokiegi.

Apart from the pétanque tournament organized on the sports plain, the program for Saturday June 29, Saint Peter’s Day, will be concentrated on Plaza Berri. The morning of activities, intended for children, will be followed by the neighborhood aperitif, hosted by the Joyeux band and the festival committee team.

The ikastola’s parents will organize the lunch and, at 4 p.m., a snack will be offered. From 6 p.m., popular songs punctuated by guitars and cajón will resound again thanks to the warm voices of the Brililiak group as well as the Botakantu group which will host the barbecue. The Alademoska and Murgi taldea groups will be responsible for hosting the concerts until the early morning.

Respected tradition

Sunday tradition will be respected: the holiday mass will be followed by a dancing and musical parade to Plaza berri. The opportunity for the Joaldunak to accompany elected officials and representatives of associations under the protection of the Dragon of Lissague.

Leinua dancers and musicians will present paintings of their creation “Oihal errituak” before speeches from elected officials and an aperitif offered to the population. The Mintza aperitifa evening followed by a “yellow party” will be worth the detour before closing the celebrations with a ball hosted by Kilimak and Gabele.

Security

In order to guarantee everyone’s safety, vehicle traffic will be prohibited from the Fronton bar to the Pearl from Friday June 28, 5 p.m., to Monday July 1, at 3 a.m.
