There is certainly the Open Elkho Group tournament which highlights the club once a year in the media. But the Tennis club of the Villefranche agglomeration (TCAV) continues to operate throughout the year.

And even to live again, according to its sports director Nicolas Beaune. “Today there are 548 members in the club whereas a little over four years ago there were less than 400, he highlighted, Tuesday June 4, during the presentation of the tournament. Knowing that tennis is not necessarily in vogue with the padel which is arriving, we have still made very big progress.”

So much so that the three covered courts are currently insufficient to cover needs during the winter period. A reflection is therefore underway on this subject.

French Championship and development of padel

On a more sporting level, the TCAV was also in the running to achieve a good performance last Sunday. The club’s first team was in fact playing in the play-offs to access the French championship.

On the partner side, of which there are 36, the Caladois club intends to maintain this family model, without competition. “We would also like to bring you together a little more, Nicolas Beaune told them. In September, I will come back to you to propose a small annual program to hold meetings approximately every month and a half at a partner’s home.”

The padel, the sports director spoke about it again but this time on his own account and not as competition: the TCAV would like to build a field intended for this practice. This land would be accompanied by a possible “receptive part in our clubhouse with possibly restaurant management”. Nothing actioned, but ideas to make the structure grow.
