Bruay-La-Buissière: June 29 and 30 – The medieval and fantastic festival

Building on the success of the first edition, Bruay-La-Buissière now also has its annual medieval and fantastic festival. Knights, birds of prey and various creatures return to the foot of the Donjon de Labuissière on the weekend of June 29 and 30. Here is the program.

It’s an event for the whole family. This year, the site will immerse you in several worlds for two days.

Discover a typical medieval camp from the 13th to the 15th century thanks to the Féal Troppelet company. Learn about crossbow shooting, old-fashioned board games, period cooking and the essential calligraphy with her. Also discover the tales and legends of Flanders, through the medieval camp of the Corvus Flandria company whose members will introduce you to blacksmithing, archery, herbalism and witchcraft.

Maître Géant will show you the minting of coins, the demonstration of a money changer’s office as well as a stone engraving animation of a pilgrimage sign.

But don’t forget to take a detour to Scandinavia with the reconstruction of a 10th century camp by La Compagnie de Ur which will offer you crafts, demonstrations of combat equipment, games with the public and skits.

The warrior artisans will offer a Viking reenactment camp with a presentation of weapons and armor and combat simulations and the making of chain mail.

Children will be able to learn about bolas with Lorélie Créa.

The whole family will be able to take on the challenges of Viggo Amuseur: key to the castle, weighing mini-barrels, bonneteau, ring toss, infernal swing, rickshaw cylinders, balancing nails, aquarium, sticks…

Marvel throughout the weekend at the various activities and shows that will illustrate these camps: the parades and reenactments of knightly battles thanks to the Brothers in Arms of Saint Guinefort and their greyhounds, the show The Tribulations of the Sisters Poincepoils by the company À bouts de films, the raptor show by the Di Penta falconry. Without forgetting the highlight of the weekend, Saturday at 10:30 p.m., don’t miss the fire show with knights and final pyro-juggling by the Thorolfyr Company and the Emeriass horde.

And don’t forget to come in disguise.

Saturday June 29 from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday June 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Donjon de Labuissière. Free admission. Refreshment bar and catering on site: grills and sandwiches between 5 and 12 euros: reservation recommended on 03 59 41 34 00.
