Dakar, June 13 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, stressed the need to consider the implementation of a National Archives Development Program in Senegal with a view to ensuring “optimal conservation.” ”.
He addressed the issue of heritage management and national archives on Wednesday during the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
The national archives development program on which the government is called to reflect “must give priority to the construction of a national library, regional and departmental libraries,” said the head of state.
It must also provide space for “controlled recruitment” of archivists and professional documentalists in ministries and other public and parapublic entities.
