At the Séméac Olympique Trail section, it’s a permanent fishing trip, this observation was made during the recent AGM of the club in the presence of all the staff of the SO Athletics club where we had a thought for Bruno Montalescot who died in 2023. The president of the club Michel Ducastaing, with Ariège roots and a hairdresser by trade at Place du Foirail, summed up the past season in three words: result, solidarity, renewal.

Results.

The club beat its record in the women’s master marathon by Célia Gayet in 3 h 4 & 36 seconds in Paris. Also at the Bigorre challenge (a challenge that is very important to Alain Baylac) where in the general ranking that is established after 10 events we find in 3rd place Laetitia Lamarque, in 4th José Ferreira. In addition to these events, there are various podiums where we find Marie Laure Danrez, Christelle Espéron, Estelle Gendre, Anita Evon and Cécile Legodec.

Four representatives of the Séméacais Trail will be in the Olympic marathon open to the public. So have a good race and success to Laetitia Lamarque, Camille Abadie, David Danrez, Laurent Duru.

In the field of solidarity.

This past year, thanks to the sale of T-shirts for “November” and the fight against cancer, the club offered €250 to the League against Cancer. This operation will be repeated.

Renewal.

This concerns the Séméac race which after 5 years of absence has started again on a different format. It is now a 10 km road and woods, with an 8 km untimed walk during the town’s festivals. 200 participants responded. The 2nd edition will take place on September 15, 2024 with in addition a children’s race. The entire club is already mobilized with the municipal technical services and the deputy for Sports Bernard Ducor who were thanked for their help both material and financial.
