And here’s the Eventing Competition again!

Once again this year, 99 horse-rider pairs will participate in the event. They will come here and there from Canada, the United States, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand.

Eventing, still directed by the venerable Sue Ockendon, remains a kept secret, as is written about every year. Equestrian sports enthusiasts know that the caliber is particularly high, but too few people attend the event, even though it is the only one of its kind to be presented in the country.

Olympian and proud representative of the region Colleen Loach is there again. Same thing for her compatriot Jessica Phoenix, Americans Boyd Martin and Phillip Dutton, who have all participated in the Games once and then again.

“This event has a special charm,” explains Loach, of Dunham. There is this magnificent setting, this relaxed atmosphere…”

“I’m at home here, but I would come even if I lived on the other side of the world.”

— Colleen Loach

Eventing consists of three major events: dressage, the always impressive cross-country, always presented on Saturday, and show jumping.

Riders will compete for a total purse of $25,000.

The Eventing course, 2024 edition, is designed by American Derek DiGrazia, who designed the course for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and several of the most prestigious Eventing events in the world. In Bromont, he received help in his business from Canadian Jay Hambly.

New this year: canine agility demonstrations will be presented. And why not bring Fido to see the horses!
