In Wavre, the liberal mayor Anne Masson hoped to renew her absolute majority, but that was without taking into account the resounding return of the Engagés and in particular of Benoît Raucent, who, by jumping 10 seats, was on par with her. This Tuesday, a coalition agreement between the Engagés, Ecolo and the PS overthrew the historic mayorate of the MR, in power since 1977 in this commune. Benoit Thoreau, having obtained the most votes on the list of Engaged, should become mayor.

In Brussels, negotiations are still underway in Schaerbeek between the PS and the MR-Engagés list, which has just won back an elected official, bringing the total number of seats acquired by the party to 11. The MR-Engagés list thus becomes the first formation in Schaerbeek, surpassing the PS (10 seats). Negotiations are still underway to find out who from Hasan Koyuncu, head of the PS list, first score in preference votes (3,832) and Audrey Henry, head of the MR-Engaged list (2,615), will be mayor.
