How much will Joe Biden receive in annual pension as ex-president?

President Joe Biden will receive, at the end of his mandate and as stipulated by American law, a pension for having occupied the Oval Office of the White House.

At the end of his political career at the end of his presidential term, Joe Biden should be financially secure until the end of his days. While awaiting the result of the November 5 presidential election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, the 81-year-old Democratic president is guaranteed to receive several pensions upon retirement, thanks to the roles observed over the last few decades.

With a personal fortune estimated at several million dollars, Joe Biden should receive an annual pension of 236,000 dollars, or nearly 216,000 euros. To this former president’s pension would also be added pension payments for his 36 years as a senator.

A pension set up by the State

According to the National Taxpayers Union, the American president receives an additional $166,374 each year thanks to his former position as senator. In total pensions, Joe Biden should receive 402,374 dollars per year, or nearly 369,000 euros.

In addition to this sum, costs are covered by the State, thanks to the “Former Presidents Act”, including personnel costs, as well as expenses for “appropriate offices, suitably furnished and equipped” and assistance in security terms.
