Huawei is currently taking reservations for its Nova 13 in China, but does not intend to reveal all the characteristics before its official presentation on October 22, 2024.

The lineup is expected to consist of vanilla and Pro versions (without the Ultra versions in sight this time), one of which has reportedly surfaced on Geekbench as the Huawei MIS-AL00.

It was identified as the 13 Pro by the omnipresent leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS), perhaps because it has 12 GB of RAM and a processor with exactly the same characteristics as that of a previous leak associated with the first generation of Nova Flip.

If so, the 13 Pro got more out of the Kirin 8000 processor than its clamshell cousin, with a relatively improved multi-core score of 2900. In contrast, the Flip scored exactly 1000 in single-core, and the 13 Pro didn’t do any better in this regard.

The smartphone will use these internal components to run HarmonyOS 4.2 (probably mistakenly detected as the Android 12 version on Geekbench) on a 1.5K quad curvature 1.5K screen, and charges as fast as the future OnePlus 13 OnePlus 13 to 100Waccording to DCS.

The 13 Pro is also tipped to take over the Nova series’ signature 50MP variable aperture and dual selfie cameras with a 60MP lens and optical zoom.

Finally, Huawei may not be able to call the Nova 13 Pro a 5G smartphone (yet) – but it could market it as the latest Beidou smartphone for Beidou satellite messaging.
