Friday September 27, 2024, in the evening, Yves-Nicolas room, the young farmers took stock of the Agrifête which took place last August in Lannilis. Due to the great success of this edition, they were congratulated by MP Graziella Melchior, the president of the Department Maël de Calan, the mayor of Lannilis Jean-François Tréguer and the departmental president of Young Farmers, Yann Le Gac.

“Agriculture is one of the driving forces of the local economy”

The speeches converged on the quality of the organization and the state of mind of this team which mobilized 470 volunteers, many of whom were not from the profession. “It’s been three years since a team mobilized to prepare the event on an area of 40 hectares. You are a committee of around forty people who have been able to gather many volunteers around you. You were able to react to the largely rainy weather to restore the terrain. Agriculture is one of the driving forces of the local economy. The firefighters, the Red Cross and the police praised the quality of the work. I only saw happy people! You gave a very good image of the town.”

Behind the Charrues and the Boudu

“Agriculture accounts for 40% of the local economy,” said Jean-François Tréguer, addressing the two co-presidents, Yannick Galliou and Baptiste Corre, who, currently employed, will settle in Bourg-Blanc and Tréglonou.

“With 40,000 people, this event was the third festival in Finistère behind the Vieilles charrues and the Festival du bout du monde. It is the largest educational event that promotes understanding of agriculture. It perpetuates a tradition of commitment to the city,” underlined Maël de Calan.
