Adapted from Jeffrey Eugenides’ novel of the same name, Virgin Suicides is Sofia Coppola’s first feature film. Noticed at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival, the film depicts the unhappiness of five teenage girls in puritanical America in the 1970s. As a bonus, the film’s soundtrack is by the French group Air, cocorico!
