A masseur from the Roscoff thalassotherapy center (Finistère) was indicted and imprisoned for attempted rape and sexual assault on his clients whom he filmed without their knowledge, the Brest prosecutor’s office announced this Friday.
Aged 34, this man, of French nationality with no criminal record, was taken into police custody on Tuesday, just after a client’s report.
An attack on a 22-year-old client
The young woman, aged 22 and in a state of shock, explained to the gendarmes that the masseur, who had offered to give her a “traditional Indian massage”, “had started to massage her in the private parts of her inappropriate manner,” described Brest prosecutor Camille Miansoni in a press release.
In a state of astonishment, the young woman, at first, did not know how to react. The masseur then removed his pants “on the pretext of being more comfortable for the massage” and the young woman “then felt the erect penis of the person concerned position itself at the level of his penis (…) trying to penetrate her,” said the magistrate.
The client, in a “startle” then asked him to stop, immediately leaving the scene and reporting the facts.
Three women filmed without their knowledge
During police custody, investigators discovered three videos of naked young women on a massage table in the masseur’s cell phone, including a video corresponding to his last client.
The young woman indicated that this video had been taken without her knowledge, as had the two other women, “who explained that they had received a massage from the same employee in conditions that they also considered inappropriate (…) without however suggest an attempted penetration,” said the prosecutor.
Already a masseur in other healthcare establishments, the suspect had been employed at the Roscoff thalassotherapy center for less than a month. He was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on Thursday for attempted rape, sexual assault and invasion of privacy by capturing images of a sexual nature.
