Body found in Hemmingford: Victim’s fiancé arrested

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has identified a suspect for the murder of Kelsea Watt, the 29-year-old mother found dead Thursday morning in a wooded area in Hemmingford, Montérégie.

According to our information, the suspect arrested is the victim’s fiancé, Nicholas Gravel.

The latter was handcuffed early in the afternoon and was to be met by SQ investigators into crimes against the person.

Authorities, however, declined to confirm the identity of the suspect arrested or his connection to Kelsea Watt.

“The individual, aged in his thirties, will be interviewed so that we can determine his level of involvement in the woman’s death,” said Sergeant Marythé Bolduc, spokesperson for the SQ.

Kelsea Watt had been missing since Saturday afternoon, when she left her home to go for a walk in a wooded area near her home.

Intense searches have been carried out over the past few days in an attempt to find the young woman.

His body was unfortunately found Thursday morning in the woods just behind his residence.
