President Tebboune presents his condolences to King Mohamed VI

The President of the Algerian Republic, M. Abdelmadjid Tebbounesent, Saturday June 29, 2024, a message of condolences to the King of Morocco, Mohammed VIfollowing the death of his mother, Princess Lalla Latifa (75 ans).

In the message of condolences, published by the Presidency of the Algerian Republic, we read:

“To His Majesty, Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco, sister country. I learned with sorrow the news of your mother’s death. Following this sad news (…), I would like, on my behalf and on behalf of the Algerian people, to present to Your Majesty my sincere condolences. We pray to Allah, Almighty, to surround the deceased with His holy mercy and to welcome her among the pious and the saints.

“I also pray to Allah, Almighty, to grant you and all members of the royal family patience and comfort to overcome this painful ordeal. To Allah we belong and to Him we return,” added President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Lalla Latifa was the Princess of Morocco, widow of King Hassan II and mother of the current King Mohammed VI. She was born in 1946 in Khenifra, Morocco, and was from the Amazigh tribe of Zayanes. She married King Hassan II in 1961. Together, they had five children: Lalla Meryem, Lalla Asmaa, Lalla Hasnaa, Prince Moulay Rachid, and King Mohammed VI.

The princess, nicknamed by the Moroccan press “the mother of the royal children”, died on June 29, 2024, at the age of 75, after a long illness.
