How did you come up with the idea of creating a magazine dedicated to archaeology? ?

Stones have always fascinated me! When we cross archaeological sites, we feel a special atmosphere, the places are inhabited. I’ve always wondered if stones could talk, what would they whisper in our ears?

The desire to give them a voice gradually grew imposed. Corsica is full of sites and each in its own way sheds light on the daily life of these men and women who shaped these places.

Beyond the stones, who are the protagonists? ?

Well, stones don’t speak, but fortunately, dedicated and passionate historians and archaeologists lend them a voice. For each selected site, a specialist will reveal the unique history of the place. This precious story offers us a poetic and sensitive stroll through the site we pass through, giving it a second wind and new keys to understanding.

Which site left the biggest impression on you?

A few years ago, during a filming session, I met an archaeologist who told me about a site, closed to the public, whose theme and period had fascinated me personally for years.

From then on, I knew that I was going to write a program around archeology one day, just to be able to access this place. The episode now exists, it’s up to you to spot it !!

But, overall, all the episodes reveal a nugget of our history and I would have a hard time highlighting one in particular.

Why would you recommend following this collection dedicated to archaeology? ?

In 24 8-minute episodes, you will discover and hear the history of Corsica like you have never heard it before. It’s amazing, isn’t it?!

More seriously, from Prehistory, through Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the modern and contemporary era, specialists have updated new data and place Corsica at the heart of new economic and societal issues, often focused on the sea. This series allows us to touch on some aspects of it !!
And 8 minutes is short, go on, don’t hesitate!!!

First episode this Saturday, dedicated to the site of Cuciurpula: 1300 years before our era, in Alta Rocca, between the plain and the high mountains, the village of Cuciurpula was born.
Corsica is going through a period of change and new territory means investing in new ways of life and above all the birth of a new habitat…

In this episode, Kewin Peche Quilichini, director of the Alta Rocca Museum, will give us additional information on the topic of the day!
