This Sunday, June 30, after 42 years of career spent within the station with the red logo, the literary columnist bowed out. Around him, his colleagues and friends welcomed his departure.

It was on the show “Let yourself be tempted” this Sunday, June 30: Bernard Lehut said goodbye to RTL listeners. While the presenter Anthony Martin emphasizes that this program is their last before the summer and the literary columnist’s very last, the person feigns surprise. “Ah good ?” The man of letters then mentions “Let yourself be tempted”: “42 years at RTL and 23 with you, this fantastic team, to talk about books and those who write them,” he describes.

After paying tribute to his career, Anthony Martin assures that Bernard Lehut will still be present on RTL airwaves. “Before leaving, you left us reports, chronicles that we will hear this summer, you will remain at the helm of the RTL-Lire Grand Prix. But we weren’t going to let you go like that.” reassures the presenter before giving the floor to the first “fan” of Bernard Lehut who is waiting at the RTL switchboard.

This first “faithful listener” is actually the writer Tatiana de Rosnay. “Dear Bernard Lehut, or should I say Bernie, my little nickname for you,” she begins. “Thank you for being the precious voice of our books, thank you for your loyalty, I wish you a wonderful retirement, full of reading, travel and relaxation.” After her, it is the turn of the writer Guillaume Musso to say goodbye to Bernard Lehut.

“Dear Bernard, I wanted to greet you during this last broadcast, to tell you that I have never forgotten that I did the first interview of my career with you, in January 2004.”the author recalls. “You were the first journalist to highlight my novel. […] I would like to thank you for your kindness, your benevolence, and for this elegance which you never lose.” After hearing these messages, Bernard Lehut expressed his emotion : “You’re going to make me cry now!”

Finally, it’s Joël Dicker’s turn to say goodbye. “My very dear Bernard, I wanted to tell you all my affection, to wish you good luck for this new stage of your life”, declares the Swiss author. “I wanted to thank you for everything you have done for me, for everything I owe you. […] Thank you for these twelve professional years for which I owe you so much.”

“It touches me deeply”begins Bernard Lehut once all the messages have been listened to. “And it is you that I want to greet because if the adventure has been so beautiful for 23 years, it is thanks to this formidable team of “Let yourself be tempted””, he assures, then thanking each member of his team and his predecessors. “Continue to defend culture on this radio, because culture makes life bigger, it is openness to others and to the world. In these times, I think that is something very important,” he concludes before thanking his listeners.

On the social network X, RTL salutes him one last time. “Today was Bernard Lehut’s last performance in “Laissez vous tenter”. Thank you to this great man to whom we wish the best for the future,” writes the station with the red logo. And the interested party responds: “Thank you for this long and rich adventure.”
