Sina Free is the new European Gravel Champion! In this 2nd edition, the Swiss was able to beat two Italian competitors in the Veneto region. Frei won the race alone, leaving behind Silvia Persico (2nd) and Alice Maria Arzuffi (3e).

Frei trapped the Italians
The elite women completed two 51-kilometer laps during their race, 70% of which were on stony paths, for a total of 1,600 meters of elevation gain. The main actresses of the last World Championship in Louvain, were missing from the start list. This made it possible to pay particular attention to runners like Silvia Persicothe mountain biker Sina Free, Soraya Paladin, Elena Cecchini, Alice Maria Arzuffi… They were all part of a first peloton of around twenty runners who managed to break away from the first kilometers.
During the second round, the selection was made. Behind Sina Freetwo Italians managed to break away in the fight for silver: Perch et Arzuffi. On the different “sterrati”, they did not manage to catch up Frei. While Frei had already crossed the line and won the European title, Perch proved to be the fastest in the sprint for second place.
