Gomes asserts himself in the English environment
Already author of quality performances during the last gathering, the Lille Angel Gomes establishes himself as an element on which coach Lee Carsley can count. At the start of the game (17′), Gomes controls the ball with his back to the game, sees Grealish take the Finnish defense from behind, and serves him in the best conditions. Goal for England.
In the second half, Alexander-Arnold doubled the lead (74′), Declan Rice finished the job (84′). Despite Hoskonen’s goal to save the Finns’ honor, Finland lost at home.
