Stefan Küng won the Chrono des Nations ! After his victories in the event in 2021 and 2022 (he did not participate in 2023), the Swiss of Groupama-FDJ therefore achieves a hat-trick. This is his third victory in 2024… and the third in a time trial, after the Swiss Championships and the 21st stage of The Return.

A very tight time

Küng covered the day’s 45.4 kilometers in 51’53”, or an average of 52’53” km/h. Despite this very high speed, this time trial came down to nothing, since the Swiss was ahead of Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates) and Johan Price-Pejtersen (Bahrain Victorious) by only 4 and 5 seconds. Küng was even 3rd in the first intermediate score.

On the other hand, disappointment for Michael Bjerg (UAE Team Emirates), who was nevertheless in the lead at this first intermediate, but who only finished in 4th place, 28″ from victory. The young Alec Segaert (Lotto Dstny) completes the top 5.
