After a 2-0 victory against Burundi on Sunday, Burkina Faso ranks first in Group L, far ahead of second-placed Senegal, and therefore wins the very first ticket for CAN 2025, which will be organized in Morocco.

Burkina Faso is the first country to validate its ticket for the final phase of the 2025 African Cup of Nations thanks to its victory against Burundi (2-0), Sunday in Abidjan. The Stallions had already won 4-1 in the first leg.

Mohamed Konaté, striker of Al-Riyadh FC, (1-0, 5th) and Bertrand Traoré (2-0, 90th + 4, penalty), striker of Chelsea, , Aston Villa and Villarreal, today at the Ajax Amsterdam, scored the two goals in qualifying for the CAN which will be played in Morocco (December 21, 2025 – January 18, 2026).

Senegal will follow?

After four days, Burkina Faso has three victories and a draw at the top of group L, with 10 points, three more than Senegal (2nd). Senegal, African champions in 2021, will join Burkina Faso in Morocco – whose team has already qualified as host country – next year if they beat Malawi on Tuesday.
