Coupe de France: ten against eleven, Dinan Léhon (N2) escapes at the last minute from the trap set by AS Retiers (R2)

Reduced to ten after half an hour of play, Stéphane Lamant’s players had to face headwinds on Sunday. They finally went to seek their qualification at the end of the penalty shootout.

French Cup. AS Retiers Coëmes (R2) – Dinan Léhon (N2): 2-2 (2-3 on the tabs)

Blasted by its supporters who came in large numbers, AS Retiers believed on several occasions to capsize the Dinan ship on Sunday, despite the three divisions difference. Unfortunately for them, Dinan Léhon showed resilience, even if Stéphane Lamant experienced big doubts, with this slightly crazy scenario: “We almost fell into the trap, until the end it looked a lot like it. After the missed match point on our last shot, I told myself that it wasn’t going to happen today. We will forget this performance… The qualification is at the end. »

Fortunately for him, Isaia Hubert repelled the last Resterian attempt and delivered his people, at the end of a very complicated meeting. A few minutes after Valla opened the score from the penalty spot (0-1, 22′), Dinan was reduced to ten men, with the expulsion of Mendy (37′). The Dinan machine then stalled and AS Retiers rushed into the breach.

A penalty in the last seconds

So far solid but timid offensively, the Restériens equalized after the hour mark with a header from Pinard Janvier, which capsized the Joseph Egu stadium (66′, 1-1). Stunned, the Dinannais managed as best they could to regain the advantage thanks to Kitenge, receiving a cross from Bodin (1-2, 75′). Anxious to take cover, even with ten against eleven, Dinan Léhon left space, and conceded a penalty in the final seconds, which captain Cornée converted (2-2, 90′). At the end of a victorious series of penalties where they once again experienced cold sweats, the Dinannais gleaned their ticket for the 6th round.

BUTS. AS Retiers Coëmes: Pinard Janvier (66′), Cornée (90′ sp). Dinan Léhon: Valla (22′ sp), Kitenge (75′).
