Laurence Arné wanted to evoke at the heart of her film the difficulties that stepfamilies face. Laurence Arné has to face it on a daily basis with her companion, Dany Boon. Between them, the couple had six children. “This film evokes many personal issues”explains the director in the columns of 7 Days TV.
“Being a mother, a woman, a mother-in-law, and it is also a question of this part of childhood that we keep, but which we must mourn as adults. I also mention the fact of still believing in the family, despite a marriage and divorce, and the importance of taking children on this adventure.”she specifies before adding that a “family, it’s a rock group, it’s a huge mess, and everyone has to find their part. The parents are the conductors of the orchestra, we have to maintain a certain framework. I live alone with my son 14 years old [A Paris, alors que Dany Boon vit à Bruxelles, ndlr]. Sometimes I have to remind him that I’m not his roommate, but his mom!”
