Following the special occasion of Eid Al-Adha, Glovo, the technological leader in multi-category delivery in Morocco, has revealed the trends in the evolution of orders in Morocco.

Glovo ensures delivery, even on Eid Al-Adha

In preparation for this exceptional period, a special system was prepared in advance to respond optimally and efficiently to the expectations and needs of Moroccans on this occasion, including the creation of a “Special Eid” collection. Glovo made its services available from noon on Eid until 10 p.m., with operational partners on that day and delivery people who chose to use the application during this holiday. A peak in orders was recorded during the 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot with an average delivery time not exceeding 30 minutes.

Users of the application have been generous by offering higher tips than usual, with an estimated average of 10 dirhams. At the top of the ranking of cities giving the most tips, we find Bouskoura and Dar Bouazza followed by the city of Essaouira.

Moroccans’ penchant for healthy meals even during Eid Al-Adha

Even with the succulent dishes prepared for the occasion, the unbeatable trio Burger, Pizza and Sandwich remained in first place on the podium of catering orders on Glovo with more than 6,000 burgers delivered in Morocco on the very day of Eid. A penchant for chicken dishes was also noted, thus arriving in 2nd position in catering orders, an increase of 31% compared to last year, to please even those who are not fond of red meat.

This year was also marked by a 57% increase in healthy dishes, which demonstrates an increasingly pronounced preference for balanced food among Moroccan consumers.

In order to end the festivities on a sweet note, Moroccan users placed more than 3,500 orders for ice creams of all kinds and flavors. Pastry and bakery products were very popular with more than 4,500 pastries delivered on Eid alone.

Glovo also helps reduce the distances between Moroccans and their loved ones with nearly 2,000 orders for Express phone top-ups, allowing them to stay in touch with their families and loved ones even the most distant ones and further supporting its value proposition offering Moroccans a tailor-made mall within reach.

A beautiful start to the summer season

The conjunction of Eid Al-Adha 2024, the start of the summer season, the end of the baccalaureate exams, the return of MREs and sunny days has led to a notable growth in orders in tourist cities, particularly in Oujda with more than 177% increase or even M’Diq with +100% compared to the rest of the year.
