Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and SAP Francophone Africa announced the strengthening of their collaboration through the adoption by UM6P of the “RISE with SAP” solution to operate its ERP system. This signing took place between Hicham EL Habti, President of UM6P and Hicham Iraqi Houssaini, Managing Director of SAP Francophone Africa during the global GITEX Africa event which was held in Marrakech from May 29 to 31, 2024, indicates -on in a joint press release.

This initiative is in line with the sovereign cloud project announced by UM6P and SAP in June 2023, which revealed the launch of the first cloud service in Morocco with Atlas Cloud Services (a subsidiary of UM6P), hosting the “RISE with SAP” offer.

“This collaboration will allow the two entities to accelerate their actions in the areas of innovation as well as sovereignty and reinforced data protection, in order to support Moroccan and African companies in more than 25 sectors of activity,” we explain. He added that “it will offer businesses on our continent the opportunity to benefit from SAP cloud solutions technology on a global scale, while respecting local legal and regulatory compliance. This initiative will also allow Morocco to accelerate its digital transformation in the region, strengthen its position in the global digital economy and create high value-added jobs for all customers and partners.

Thus, the collaboration between UM6P and SAP represents a synergy of know-how of the two institutions allowing a combination of data security, regulatory compliance and performance for Moroccan and African companies concerned with protecting their information.
