Several members of the Blénod-lès-Pont-à-Mousson genealogical circle came to give Pascal Fleury, the mayor, a new edition of the book of Montauville families, from 1719 to 1948.

Mireille Malivoir had the privilege of entrusting the chief magistrate with this very impressive work. For several years, the genealogist worked with great ardor and professionalism on this new edition. Many illustrations complete this book. “A first edition had been produced 14 years ago by Daniel Wolff. When I joined the circle, I prepared a first book on a very small village, Rouves, then on Mousson, my mother’s village, then a third on Montauville, my father’s commune. I am currently working on a 4e book, the village of Phlin near Nomeny. »

Each genealogist works alone on Heredis, then the work is transformed into a printable book. Currently, across the entire region, 80 different municipalities are listed and are the subject of works available at the headquarters of the circle.

4,536 families listed

The work is considerable, 10,803 people are listed, as well as 4,536 families, 2,526 surnames, 2,087 places and 1,100 professions. “At the time, there were a lot of day laborers, winegrowers, plowmen, then the time of the steel industry arrived with the foundry of Pont-à-Mousson,” underlines the genealogist.

On sale at the garage sale this Saturday

The family book will be on sale at the garage sale organized by the municipality, this Saturday, June 29, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. “Its price is €40. Eight works are already on order for my loved ones.” Then, it will be available to future readers at the genealogical circle of Blénod-lès-Pont-à-Mousson, residence Encluméchamps, place Michel Maurel.
