Artistic director of Maison Julien-Gracq in Saint-Florent-le-Vieil (Mauges-sur-) from 2017 to 2021, Emmanuel Ruben, 43, is also a prolific author who has written around ten books. He is back with a new novel, “Malville” (Éditions Stock), published at the end of August. In it, he tells the story of his youth through his double – the aptly named Samuel Vidouble – on the banks of the Rhône in the region. It talks about this father who worked at the nuclear power plant that he never talked about, the political disputes and struggles around nuclear power, and, above all, this river conducive to daydreaming.
