Arte programs will soon be available on the free streaming platforms of TF1 and Télévisions, the Franco-German public channel announced on Tuesday.

“After YouTube, , Free, Bouygues, and MyCanal, these two new partnerships represent an additional step in increasing the exposure of Arte.TV“, underlined Arte, which claims a total of 1.35 billion videos viewed in the first half of 2024.

Arte offers thousands of programs ranging from series to documentaries, films, magazines, concerts and shows, two thirds of which are exclusively online.

TF1, for its part, is pleased, in a press release, to be intensifying its policy of distributing external content: “This new partnership will allow TF1+ to enrich its catalogue with the aggregation of attractive third-party content (…) and Arte to benefit from TF1+’s powerful audiences and its massive distribution in homes.“.

In addition to the agreement with Arte, TF1 announced another similar one with A&E Television Network (AETN), “American television group, a benchmark in the field of documentaries“. “With this agreement, the platform will have more than 700 hours of documentary programs in various genres.“, including for example the emissions The extreme convoy And Ghosts Hunterscontinued TF1.

In the same vein of distributing external content, TF1+ announced in July agreements with the channels L’Équipe and Le Figaro TV, offshoots of the eponymous dailies, as well as with the music streaming platform Deezer.

Launched in January as a free alternative to paid streaming platforms such as Netflix, TF1+ claims 4 million daily users and 33 million monthly users. Arte’s partnership with France Télévisions had already been mentioned by the management of these two groups, but not yet confirmed.
