For its 21st edition, the Breton event puts Australia in the spotlight. And exalts nature while recalling the threats posed to it by the hand of man.

Heaven knows how to be merciful to positive souls. For the inauguration of the 21e La Gacilly Photo Festival (Morbihan), rain was forecast and threatened to set in shortly before the discovery of the 20 exhibitions. She will only show up five minutes after the end of the visit, sparing me wandering the streets and green spaces of this charming Breton village and allowing us to once again appreciate the very good quality of this free, open-air festival.

When you arrive, you always wonder who will have the honors of the XXL prints hung at the entrance to the village. Australia being the invited country, it could only be one of its photographers little known to us but stars in their territory, “very concerned and real whistleblowers”says Cyril Drouhet, our collaborator at Figaro Magazine and curator of exhibitions. Bobbi Lockyer’s photos therefore set the tone: a hand holding a baby enveloped in vegetation, a gift offered to the Earth as much as to the visitor. Centered…
