Thunderclap coming to France? Emmanuel Macron could resign, “he is ready to sacrifice the end of his five-year term”

The situation is serious in France. Very serious. This Tuesday, Emmanuel Macron will hold a press conference, two days after his shock announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly and, de facto, the calling of early legislative elections. His decision, taken after the overwhelming victory of the RN in the European elections, seems to be a dangerous poker move. Either it passes or it breaks.

Because according to a Harris Interactive – Toluna poll published on Monday, the RN is credited with 34% of voting intentions for the June 30 election (the early legislative elections), which according to the institute would allow it to obtain a relative majority in the Assembly a week later, with 235 to 265 deputies.

“I have confidence in the ability of the French people to make the fairest choice for themselves and for future generations,” Emmanuel Macron had already written on Monday on X, an activism that contrasts with the great discretion of his Prime Minister , Gabriel Attal, silent since Sunday evening.

A resignation to dramatize?

But in addition to this dissolution, Emmanuel Macron is considering another shock announcement to make the French people aware of the importance of the upcoming election. According to a Source close to the French president, the latter would be ready to put his resignation in the balance in the event of defeat on June 30. “He is ready to sacrifice the end of his five-year term (…) The resignation of the president is not a taboo. Yes, today we must consider all scenarios,” she explains to Europe 1.

The message is clear, Emmanuel Macron wants to raise awareness.
