2 Esteban Lepaul hurts the Brest defense
Led almost the entire match, Stade Brestois had difficulty containing Esteban Lepaul, who signed his first start with the SCO. Scorer from the 6th minute, the Angevin striker scored a second time after twenty minutes of play, but the goal was refused for offside.
Brest’s central defense had to work throughout the first half to stop him, but he almost scored again just before half-time, on a cross from Ahoulou (43′), which finally hit wide. Angevin was less visible in the second period, before leaving in the 76′.
3 It still doesn’t work against the “little ones” on the outside
If Brest has generally struggled to score points away from home this season (only three, during their victory in Reims), they never manage to escape the trap of poorly ranked teams. In September, the Brestois were heavily beaten at Auxerre (3-0), before losing, in November, 3-1 at Montpellier. We can now add Angers to the list of bottom-of-the-table teams who have beaten Finistériens on their lawn.
